Frequently asked questions about Notion website hosting

What's the difference between free and premium? What is it about that "Simple.ink" badge?

It's very simple: all websites will start with our free plan, on a subdomain of simple.ink (e.g. you.simple.ink). If you, however, want to add a custom domain that you own (e.g. you.com), that requires a paid plan.

You can stick to a free plan forever, and those websites come with a badge ("Made with Simple.ink"). We believe this is a fair deal, because this way, more people find out about Simple.ink, thus allowing us to make the service even better for you.

What counts as a website?

One website will mean one domain and all its subpages. Whether that's a subdomain with us (e.g. you.simple.ink), or a custom domain of yours (e.g. you.com), that's one plan.

Got multiple custom domains? You'll need a paid plan for each one.

What about SEO?

The whole point of using a no-code tool to build your website is so that you can focus on what you like, and leave aside the headaches.

Setting up your website for perfect SEO is one of the headaches we're saving you.

Technically speaking, websites made with Simple.ink have everything they need!

Do I need a paid Notion plan to use Simple.ink?

Not at all! You can use the free plan of Notion and still use Simple.ink to its full potential.

Do I need to know how to code?

Not at all! Simple.ink takes care of everything so that you can build, upgrade and maintain your website without having to know how to code. It's faster, more effective and leaner than going for the manual route of setting up a website.

If you know how to code, you can make use of that, but it's not required.

How do you compare to ______?

We have a free plan, so we (= DanielDavid, co-founders) highly encourage you to make the comparison yourself! It costs you nothing - and no hard feelings if you don't want to go with us.

We would really love to know what made you go with us or somebody else! If you could take a moment to write us about that, it'd help us create a stronger product.

Notion hosting: explained

Are Notion-hosted websites free?

First things first, let’s answer the greatest question about Notion website hosting: “Is it free?”. The answer is, happily, yes.

Hosting a Notion website is not only a stress-free adventure, but it’s also a money-free process. No need to pay any cash to get a Notion website.

But, as in any other service, if you want to get more advantages, there’s also the paid plan which offers many other features, like automatic pretty URLs, instead of messy and lengthy links.

Why even pay for a Notion website?

Paying for a Simple.ink-built Notion website makes a lot of difference from the free version, mainly because we’re offering Notion website hosting with custom domains on the paid plan, and because you also get rid of the Simple.ink badge on your pages.

Though, it’s more than that. Even though we’ve shown you the full comparison of the Notion website builder’s plans, there’s more about it.

Why choose Simple.ink as my Notion website host?

Compared to our competitors, the Simple.ink Notion website hosting free/paid plan has one huge advantage: it’s easier to build and host a website, as it all takes 10 seconds and a few clicks.

If you’re wondering, we’ve also got Notion website hosting comparison pages to competitors such as Super and Fruition. Check out what you can do with our tool!

Can I add integrations to Notion-hosted websites?

Notion website hosting brings another pretty advantage for free websites: you can integrate your favourite tools. So, if you want to insert widgets, apps and anything else, you can do it.

You don’t need to get the paid Notion website hosting plan to get access to connect your favourite integrations in Notion.
